Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Tatum had 30 points, Josh had 23, Eli and Collier had 14 and Mash had nine points and 14 assists.
[00:00:07] Speaker B: That's crazy.
[00:00:07] Speaker A: Which to our knowledge, as it stands.
[00:00:13] Speaker B: And welcome back to the official Emmaus Athletic podcast. In the nest. I'm your co host Shane Douglas, here with Matthew Tomlinson. Matt, it is so good to be back.
[00:00:25] Speaker A: Shane. It is fantastic.
[00:00:27] Speaker B: How you feeling? How you feeling, dude?
[00:00:28] Speaker A: I'm feeling. Feeling a little excited. I'm feeling a little antsy. It's like our first time we've ever done this.
[00:00:32] Speaker B: I know it's. It's been a long winter break for sure, but we are back. A lot of sickness, but good times, good rest for the students, faculty, staff, ourselves included. It's been great. Lovely see you. I haven't seen you for a while.
[00:00:44] Speaker A: No, it's been a long time. You were just in Pennsylvania. I was just in Kansas.
[00:00:49] Speaker B: Yeah, we've been already traveling right away for Emas hitting those conferences. I just went to the east coast to, to New Jersey and Pennsylvania. So shout out to everybody I met out there if you're a listener or if you're alum out there. Love you guys. And we had the pleasure going to Impact.
[00:01:06] Speaker A: What a great conference that was Iowa City.
[00:01:10] Speaker B: It was really fun, really filled with a lot of activities, but a lot of great messages too. But I love this hat.
[00:01:16] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:01:17] Speaker B: Can't go unnoticed.
[00:01:18] Speaker A: Can't go unnoticed.
[00:01:19] Speaker B: We got new beanies that were given out to our students and our admitted boxes. So when you apply to Emmaus, you don't just get a T shirt anymore. I. When we applied, we only got a T shirt and acceptance letter. Now you get a new T shirt acceptance letter and this beanie.
[00:01:36] Speaker A: Beanie. So apply, get accepted and you could get one of these beanies.
[00:01:41] Speaker B: You get more than that too. You get a little stuffed eagle and some other fun things as well.
[00:01:45] Speaker A: But I like it with the, with the new.
[00:01:47] Speaker B: They're nice. I like them a lot. Yeah, super cool. But either way, we are back in session. Lady.
[00:01:55] Speaker A: Ladies and gentlemen, here we are.
[00:01:56] Speaker B: We're ready to go. We got our basketball teams already. Already rolling. Our men's and women's already hit the road last week and they have games this upcoming weekend as well. But for you listeners, I want an update on the Emmaus athletic sports for the spring season, winter season for the men's and women's basketball team.
You have came to the right place because we have Matthew Thomas right here, the assistant coach for the men's basketball team and myself, the media, the media.
[00:02:27] Speaker A: I love whenever, whenever, whenever we're having a coach's like lunch channel, just like pop in and sit at our table and be like, the media is here, media is here. Don't mind me. Media.
[00:02:36] Speaker B: Some people like, dude, why are you so funny? Why are you sitting here? Get out of here. It's like, media.
[00:02:40] Speaker A: It's really funny.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: So I need to get a meeting.
[00:02:43] Speaker A: My media credential.
[00:02:44] Speaker B: I gotta get a media pass so I can walk around, get away with everything. Either way though, Matt, so far right now, what is our record for the men's basketball team?
[00:02:53] Speaker A: Yes. So coming into the semester, we were five and five. And through the first weekend we went one on one. So we are six and six this season.
[00:03:00] Speaker B: Awesome.
[00:03:01] Speaker A: 500, which is super exciting.
[00:03:02] Speaker B: And then we just, we just had two games this last weekend. Quickly, who are the two opponents that we played against?
[00:03:07] Speaker A: So we played Ozark Christian. They're ranked number five in the nation currently. We played them on Friday and then we played at Calvary University on Saturday.
[00:03:16] Speaker B: And I'm guessing we, we. We lost to Ozark 1 against Calvary.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: That is correct. Astute.
[00:03:22] Speaker B: Ozark has always been a, a really competitive team.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: Oh yeah. I mean they won. They beat Manhattan, who was undefeated last year, and the conference championship. One conference won the conference championship. It was a great game. I mean we, it was our. It was their fourth game back from break. Oh, and it was our first game back. Their fourth already fourth game back from break.
[00:03:43] Speaker B: That's crazy.
[00:03:44] Speaker A: And they, and they had, they played an exhibition game against a Division 2 team and then they had gone. They beat welch by like 40 and then they just beat Spurgeon for the second time. Okay, so coming in the game, like.
[00:03:55] Speaker B: They were pretty good.
[00:03:56] Speaker A: They were ready to go. And it was like, it was, it was a hard fought, it was a fun game, to be honest. Like, obviously we did. We ended up not pulling through and we didn't win. We lost. But I mean, our, our guys, they played really good. I mean, I mean, Honestly, we were three rotations and three rebounds away from winning that game. We lost by seven. We lost 93 to 86. High scoring game, high score, very high scoring game. I mean, coming into the game, Ozark had the number two ranked offense in the nation and we had the number six ranked offense in the nation. So it was two high powered offenses coming in the game. And it was a lot of fun. I mean, Will came off the bench, had 20 points, made six threes. William Shaw, William Shaw did. Tatum had 20 something points. And so Nash I think had 14 points and seven assists. So got our guys played really good. Just unfortunately did not end up coming through with the win. But we'll see what happens when they come to our place next month. So, yeah, I mean, really fun. And they're ranked fifth. Like, they're a very, very. Like they're nine and one right now. They're a really good team.
[00:05:02] Speaker B: It is crazy that in every game this season, I feel like our men's Eagles team have been in it. There's 40 minutes in a game.
[00:05:12] Speaker A: Most of them.
[00:05:13] Speaker B: Most of them. Most of them. Originally 40 minutes in a game, and we talked about this the other day is for you listeners to kind of know what it's like right now for our men's team is they are very competitive. No matter what team they're playing against, they're in the game for majority of the time. I would say, you know, on average, we're 30 to 35 minutes. It's a super close game. But the other team, if it's not in our. In our way and our path of winning and, and that team is going to win, usually that last five minutes is extremely crucial to them pulling away with seven points. Maybe a lot of the seven points.
[00:05:51] Speaker A: Coming from the free throw in the second half. I think there were 10. No, it was like between second and first half, there were 10 lead changes.
[00:05:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:58] Speaker A: So it was, I mean, close game. It was majority of the time and.
[00:06:01] Speaker B: Only to the two. Lose by seven is. It's a heartbreaker because seven. Seven is a lot. It's not a lot. It' it's not.
[00:06:07] Speaker A: Yeah, it's. I mean, it's three possessions and, you know, again, we haven't beaten them in quite a while. And so it was really. It was really encouraging. Like, I mean, you kind of. You can take things. We say you win and you learn. You don't win and lose. You win and you learn. And we learned a lot that game. And it was. It was really encouraging.
[00:06:23] Speaker B: And for any of you Eagle fans out there, if you're familiar with our conference for mccc for men's basketball, especially men's basketball in the. In the recent years, you can even argue the last five years, most teams, if not every team, has been very competitive. Yes. All the games. Who. It's never known who's going to win conference that year. Of course, there's front runners. And you could say last year was Manhattan.
[00:06:50] Speaker A: I don't think that you know who's going to win, but.
[00:06:52] Speaker B: But it will change everyone. Manhattan was undefeated last Year, as Matt said. And Ozark ended up taking that conference title away from them. So the same things can go on this year as well. Looking at a couple years ago, 20, 21 for the men's, men's team here, being a Cinderella team, going to nationals, winning the regional against a lot of teams who counted us out. Right. So that's the same thing that has been within our conference play last five years. Very even, very even across the board. Seven, seven points, three possessions. That is something you can fix in a 40 minute game. 100%, anytime, any time of that, that match you can.
[00:07:33] Speaker A: We fix a boxing out issue, we fix a trans turnover issue, we fix know, maybe a lazy pass.
[00:07:38] Speaker B: Like that's one, that's one extra rebound, one less turnover, one more bucket made.
[00:07:44] Speaker A: Right. And exactly to your point, what you said, I mean like it's so balanced for the most part. Like everyone's beating everyone.
[00:07:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:07:52] Speaker A: And it's like we were, we were talking over the weekend with some of the other coaches in the conference and it's like right now it's the team that doesn't show up ready to go.
[00:08:00] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:08:00] Speaker A: Usually the team that loses, everyone's beating everyone. Which can make games more tight and more exciting. Also a little more nerve wracking. But just knowing like you have to bring your A game every single day otherwise because if you don't, probably gonna lose.
[00:08:14] Speaker B: This is true. And we see like this year for our men's team, ultra competitive. They are very athletic and they're in it. They're in it. They can win against any team, any given day. And we saw that against Calvary the next day, Saturday, this last Saturday. Walking away with a dub.
[00:08:31] Speaker A: Yep, great game. We ended up winning 95 to 86. So another high scoring game both, both weekend or on Thursday or excuse me, on Friday against Ozark, we had five guys in double figures. And on Saturday against Calvary, we Also, we had four guys in double figures, but we had five guys that combined for 90 points.
[00:08:50] Speaker B: That's awesome.
[00:08:51] Speaker A: Tatum had 30 points, Josh had 23, Eli and Collier had 14 and Nash had nine points and 14 assists.
[00:08:58] Speaker B: That's crazy.
[00:08:59] Speaker A: Which to our knowledge, as it stands with the data that Emmaus from the years that they recorded stats, because some years back in the day they did not record.
[00:09:15] Speaker B: Well, we are relatively new. We've mentioned this in previous episodes. Our athletic program is still a teenager. I would say, baby, but that's premature.
[00:09:22] Speaker A: Like we know all the stats for soccer and for volleyball because they first started as intercollegiate in 2009. And obviously cross country. This is their. What they just recently started two, 30, 30 years ago, three years ago. Now, basketball's been around already second already.
[00:09:36] Speaker B: Runner up in a cross country. But this is, this is winter sports.
[00:09:38] Speaker A: Basketball's been around for. Since the 60s, but we didn't.
[00:09:43] Speaker B: But jumped around a lot of divisions.
[00:09:44] Speaker A: Jumped around a lot of divisions was. It was in and out of the NC CAAA three times, so didn't really keep track of a lot of statistics. So from what we know, Nash had set the single game record for most assists in a game for the men's basketball team with 14 assists.
[00:10:00] Speaker B: Yeah. So if you're a previous men's Eagle basketball player, Eman Eagles basketball men's player, reach out, let us know. I have 15 actually.
[00:10:13] Speaker A: Send the box.
[00:10:14] Speaker B: Let us send the box score. Yeah. Not anybody, not just anybody. Like, come on, you gotta, we gotta know that you played and know that you're.
[00:10:21] Speaker A: I had 15 assists in practice. Doesn't count.
[00:10:23] Speaker B: No, doesn't count.
[00:10:24] Speaker A: Yeah, so that was, so that was exciting. Like their response from like sometimes you play a team really well and then the next day you kind of just fall over and play really bad. But the team did not do that. They, you know, responded. They responded well. I mean, and it was cool because like we were up in the first. We were up 14 in the first half and then took the game to 17. But then in about three minutes, Calvary brought it to a. Came back and it was only a one point lead. And so when that happens, you get nervous, you get worried, like, okay, we're going to fall apart because last year we had two games where that happened. Yeah, but in three possessions after that it went back to a nine point lead. So it was really cool seeing our guys, you know, battle that adversity of giving up a big run, but then storming right back and taking the game.
[00:11:12] Speaker B: And that's. And that is Coach Parker's alma mater is Calvary University. So any highlights from this weekend? I know you already mentioned some stats from some of the men's players of combining for 90 points and playing very well against Ozark as well. Any, any. Anything you want to highlight specifically or you feel like you already did that?
[00:11:32] Speaker A: I mean, again, like you said, the guys were motivated to be Calvary because that's Coach Parker's alma mater. And so everyone's pretty excited. He had a huge fan section, but I mean, the dunk counter continued this week. Tatum had two dunks, so that, that was fun. But yeah, than that. No, it was great.
[00:11:47] Speaker B: You get a whiteboard up here. Dunk counter.
[00:11:49] Speaker A: Dunk counter. It sounds. It sounds like my Twitter account.
[00:11:51] Speaker B: It's like very high schoolish. You know, should we. Should we keep track? But I mean, everyone loves.
[00:11:55] Speaker A: Retired last year. I mean, there are dunks that are level, but that's. That's what excites me.
[00:11:58] Speaker B: There's a lot of dunks at our level. I mean, like. But I don't know, it's kind of funny that we talk about it so much.
[00:12:04] Speaker A: It is.
[00:12:04] Speaker B: It's like anomaly, but it's not.
[00:12:07] Speaker A: It is what it is. I mean, look, when I played you guys, we had one dunk in the four years that I played.
[00:12:11] Speaker B: Don't say that. Don't say that on this podcast. Don't. Don't.
[00:12:14] Speaker A: We also take that out. We also won conference, so it's okay.
[00:12:16] Speaker B: Okay, fair enough. Well, upcoming matches coming up this weekend for the men's basketball team here at Emmaus.
[00:12:24] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:12:25] Speaker B: We're playing Friday and Saturday.
[00:12:27] Speaker A: So Friday we play Central Christian College of the Bible home game. So that'll be exciting. And then on Saturday, free Lutheran Bible College comes down and we play them. And then looking ahead to next Tuesday, we have the big game. We have the Chaplains cup matchup against Faith Baptist in Ankeny, all three games. So that should be a really fun game. Chad Cunningham and Advancement are coming down to the game. They're going to do a little alumni get together that night and then I think some stuff the next day. So if you guys are in the Ankeny Des Moines Central Iowa area, please come down and support. Come support our men's and women's team that are there, but also come talk with Chad. He'll talk to you about what's going on in the maze.
[00:13:08] Speaker B: Probably buy you a coffee.
[00:13:09] Speaker A: Buy you a coffee. Maybe we'll buy you something yummy in the concession stand. So we'd love to have you guys. So it should be a really fun game because this is the third year for the chaplains cup trophy.
[00:13:19] Speaker B: You guys haven't had it yet.
[00:13:21] Speaker A: We've. We. Come on. We've lost the first two matchups, so hopefully we'll. We'll get it and bring it back to debut.
[00:13:28] Speaker B: I want that.
[00:13:28] Speaker A: Me too. I want it because you already.
[00:13:30] Speaker B: My treasures are in heaven. Actually, it's not on here, so it's true. But with that said, this weekend, yes, this Friday Central has always been a tough matchup. Always been back and forth. So if you're in the area, come out to watch that game first.
[00:13:47] Speaker A: Time. It's not been a Winterfest game against them.
[00:13:49] Speaker B: Ah, fair enough.
[00:13:50] Speaker A: Is that interesting?
[00:13:50] Speaker B: Yeah, but so that's going to be very exciting. Can't wait for that game. That's going to be a nail biter. FLBC Free Luther Lutheran on Saturday. Also going to be a fun, fun matchup.
Cameron Enki.
[00:14:06] Speaker A: Yep. I mean we, as you guys saw the record last year, we beat them 100 points. So our, our bench is going to get some. A lot of fun, a lot of opportunities. And so we'll see what happens.
[00:14:17] Speaker B: Yeah. So watch, come out there. Watch for some of your favorite players on Saturday as well.
[00:14:22] Speaker A: Crowd favorites.
[00:14:23] Speaker B: Some crowd favorites are gonna make an appearance. I just said one and you might be very confused. So come out.
[00:14:27] Speaker A: Come on Saturday. Also the alumni game is on Saturday, so we have a number of alumni in the area for men's basketball. So it'll be good to see some guys coming back to Emmaus. Yeah. Stevie Horn scoring. Horan, second time. All team leading score at Aus University is making a return.
[00:14:42] Speaker B: So it's gonna be fun.
[00:14:43] Speaker A: It'll be exciting.
[00:14:44] Speaker B: And then of course, the Chaplain cup.
[00:14:46] Speaker A: And then the Chap. Let's go.
[00:14:48] Speaker B: And an Iowa against Faith Baptist. That's gonna be really fun, especially if we get that cup right here. But if we don't, you know, my treasure treasures are in heaven. You know, if, if that, if that makes Faith feel better about having a cup, so be it. Faith, take the cup. Our treasure in heaven here at Emmaus. You don't see what I'm doing there.
[00:15:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:15:07] Speaker B: So they like, like they purposely lose because they're like. No, our treasures are either way on the women's basketball side of things. Our women's team also had two games this last weekend.
[00:15:18] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: Playing against the same team.
[00:15:20] Speaker A: Same team. So they. Yeah, so. But their matchup. So they played Ozark Friday, Calvary Saturday. Ozark number three ranked team in the nation. Oh, Calvary, the number five ranked in the nation.
[00:15:33] Speaker B: That's super tough.
[00:15:33] Speaker A: So it was a tough weekend going in for them. Playing two first games. Very good teams too. Yeah. And both teams had played already and so. Yeah, against Ozark first 3/4. They played Ozark very. Actually really well.
[00:15:48] Speaker B: See that?
[00:15:48] Speaker A: Yeah, they had a battle, some adversity. I think Rachel and Nelly picked up three fouls in the first half and then both might have gotten their fourth in the third quarter. So. So they had.
[00:16:00] Speaker B: You're allowed five fouls.
[00:16:01] Speaker A: They're allowed five fouls. And so that was tough. But both. Rachel had a really good game. She had 21 points off on 11 shots.
[00:16:09] Speaker B: You're not allowed, you are allowed five fouls.
[00:16:11] Speaker A: You fell out after your fifth foul. Yeah, and so, and then Ozark ended up pulling away at the end, so they end up, ended up losing 53 to 74. Great. I mean, it was a great turnout. Ozark girls were the conference champions last year as well. And so it was cool to see girls compete with them and then turn on on Saturday when they played Calvary, did not have a good game, ended up losing 36 to 58.
Sometimes shots fall, sometimes they don't fall. And that was just a game where they didn't fall.
So looking to have a bounce back this weekend and play a little bit better. So looking forward, it's encouraging, but destiny got in and. Yeah, so it's exciting.
[00:16:58] Speaker B: It is encouraging to hear how well they've, they've played this year as a team. That was really kind of, I mean, I mean, use a better word, but like thrown together.
[00:17:09] Speaker A: Exactly.
[00:17:10] Speaker B: Not, not a lot of recruiting happened this last, this year, last year from, you know, a lot of, A lot of, you know, different reasons. But with that said, I mean the fact that they, they've, they've, they've already won a game this season. They've been in pretty, I mean, again.
[00:17:23] Speaker A: Every single game they're 1 and 9. But those nine losses really have been under 25 points. I mean, yeah, you're like, okay, yeah, they only scored 35 points. Like, that is tough. That's not good. But they only gave up 58. Like they lost by 23 points. Like, yeah. Against the number five and the number three ranked teams in the nation.
[00:17:42] Speaker B: So you guys, it might really sound like, okay, Matt and Shane, you guys.
[00:17:45] Speaker A: Like, oh, calm down. We've heard this before.
[00:17:47] Speaker B: But no, we're being dead serious. There wasn't there like all across the board. The expectations for the season for a women's team was a rebuild season.
But to see how they have truly surprised and surpassed six girls and have searched Canard's first year and have surpassed what everyone thought they would do this season, each game that goes by. So shout out to those, to those young women on that team, Coach Canard and his staff for preparing these, these women for, for each matchup, putting them in the places they need to be so that they can be competitive against these top, this last weekend, these top two tier teams with Calvary and Ozark being some of the 20 point losses, like teams in the nation.
[00:18:26] Speaker A: Like, that's impressive. Like, yes, because like you would think like with a team of basically five girls that play the whole. All 40 minutes, like, it would not be that score. But yet they're like, we say every single game. They're in every single game.
[00:18:38] Speaker B: See, they're. Honestly, our women's team is probably one of the more scariest teams in our conference, maybe region, because people are going to sleep on them.
[00:18:47] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. They're gonna say, oh, this is a cakewalk. We're gonna roll over them. And then it's a close. Because of the record game.
[00:18:54] Speaker B: Yeah, because of the record. They're thinking it's a cakewalk. And then next thing you know, they get punched in the mouth and then they kick them out of the tournament. Yeah. And it's. I would not be surprised.
[00:19:03] Speaker A: It can happen. You never know.
[00:19:05] Speaker B: I hope we. I hope we clip this. Clip this chat. I hope we clip this, you know, and we come back when they knock someone out.
[00:19:11] Speaker A: When they knock the two seat out.
[00:19:13] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:19:13] Speaker A: The conference tournaments.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: I can see it happen today right now that this is a team that could totally do that. So come out this weekend. They play again, same teams?
[00:19:23] Speaker A: Yep. They play CCCB on Friday and then they turn around and play fobc, which they played last semester, ended up losing to. So it'd be a good rematch on Saturday. And then on Tuesday also travel down to Ankeny for a new trophy. So our first year, our women's basketball teams are competing for a trophy. It's the Pat Doer trophy. And so should be a exciting theme. Now we have three trophies between the schools, between volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball.
[00:19:54] Speaker B: How does a conference stand for women's basketball? Right now we kind of went over a little bit for men's, Ozark being one of the top, Manhattan being there as well. And everyone else just kind of fighting for. For those scraps. But also.
[00:20:06] Speaker A: So right now it's. So Faith is also the 10th ranked team in the nation. Okay, so right now it's Ozark.
Yes.
[00:20:14] Speaker B: And then what about for Faith for men?
[00:20:16] Speaker A: Faith, they're not.
[00:20:18] Speaker B: Right. They're kind of so Ozark, Manhattan, really leading for the men's teams in conference. And then everyone else kind of just fighting it out, but it really is everyone's game.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:20:28] Speaker B: And then for women's, you said Face is the top seed.
[00:20:31] Speaker A: Ozark's the top seed, followed by Calvary, and then Faith.
[00:20:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
Well, that's fun. And then, you know, we have a lot of friends at Faith as well.
[00:20:40] Speaker A: A lot of alumni in the area.
[00:20:41] Speaker B: So.
[00:20:41] Speaker A: Yeah, good to see My sister again.
[00:20:43] Speaker B: There we go. So again, that shout out for Chad Cunningham and advancement here at Emmaus to go down to Ankeny, Iowa. If you're in that Des Moines metro area, make sure to jump over there to say hi to Chad Root on the. The. The Emmaus Eagles teams. The men's and women's basketball team.
[00:21:03] Speaker A: Eagles team.
Sorry, Zach. The correct Eagles team. The amazing.
[00:21:06] Speaker B: Yeah. Zach just text you today?
[00:21:08] Speaker A: No, I know. Zach's gonna be so crying.
[00:21:10] Speaker B: Head coach for the Faith Emas or the Faith women's basketball team. Has been crying because all break because.
[00:21:17] Speaker A: There were no podcasts over break. And he's like, I don't know what to do with my Thursdays, but here we are.
[00:21:22] Speaker B: Yeah. What you can do, Zach, is give us the trophy, please, because your trophies are in heaven. And I'm done with this joke. Either way, basketball is fun.
[00:21:35] Speaker A: Basketball is fun.
[00:21:36] Speaker B: It's gonna be a fun seeing how scrappy our teams are, our women's team.
[00:21:41] Speaker A: The way they dribble the ball up and down the court.
Another joke that neither of us know what to do with.
[00:21:48] Speaker B: I just stare at Matt when he's like.
[00:21:50] Speaker A: We both just stare at each other.
[00:21:51] Speaker B: He becomes a dad on the podcast and says something like, either cringy or just not that funny. And he laughs and I just stare at him. Or sometimes I just don't.
[00:22:00] Speaker A: I just don't. I don't respond to your joke sometimes, and you're just like, dude, you don't know what to respond to. My.
[00:22:04] Speaker B: I don't say that many jokes. I'm just naturally funny, huh? Yeah. I don't plan them. I don't. I don't sit in the. The bathroom, look in the mirror and say the quotes like, you does that. You.
[00:22:12] Speaker A: I do that.
[00:22:13] Speaker B: I heard you.
[00:22:14] Speaker A: Huh.
[00:22:14] Speaker B: Either way, we have this new kind of new.
[00:22:17] Speaker A: I mean, it was sitting up there.
[00:22:18] Speaker B: But they moved it right here.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:20] Speaker B: Let us know if you like it here. I don't know. It hasn't gotten. In a way, it's been nice something to have really touched it or really looked at it, but we do kind.
[00:22:29] Speaker A: Of need a new.
[00:22:30] Speaker B: I like how.
[00:22:31] Speaker A: I need a new.
[00:22:32] Speaker B: I like it.
[00:22:32] Speaker A: It's a little bent up.
[00:22:33] Speaker B: I like it. Yeah, I like it either way.

[00:22:56] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:22:56] Speaker B: Thank you so Much. And I love hearing going to all these conferences. Matt, Matt has experiences too and hearing students who have really no connection to Emmaus other than I saw your real on Instagram other than like a friend that goes there or maybe they're thinking about coming here or they've heard of us because we come to their school and they listen to the podcast. So it's always, always fun finding out who are the viewers and who's the people who are support. Thank you for making it a part of your day taking these, you know, 20 to 30 minutes sometimes when we go over tonight, today we are not but spending that those 20 to 30 minutes of your day with us. We appreciate it so much. If that's your commute to work or getting ready in the morning or sitting at your desk, whatever it may be. Whatever it may be, we thank you. Well, sometimes it's there, you're just not looking.
[00:24:10] Speaker A: Maybe it got lost in the mail. Who knows?
[00:24:13] Speaker B: Yeah, sure.
But yeah, so we're looking to do more interviews with students and coaches, especially wrapping up, keep an eye out for the fall recaps, but then also come out to the game. We know there's a ton of you Dubuquers. We don't know if you listen or, or what. But come out to the game this weekend. Cheer on the Emmaus basketball teams when they play Central, when they play flbc and especially if you live in the metro area of Iowa around Des Moines. Show up Ankeny Iowa Faith Baptist and cheer on your Eagles. Get a free coffee or something from Chad. Right. So with all that said, we thank you and we love you and appreciate you guys. So Matt, what day is it?
[00:25:00] Speaker A: Shane, today is a great day to be an Emmaus Eagle.
[00:25:04] Speaker B: See you next time.
